Report
Much research and strategic planning went into the formation of Memphis Allies. Since it launched in 2022, Memphis Allies has grown to more than 150 committed professional staff providing life-changing services to people, ages 12-35, most at risk for gun violence.
SWITCH — Support with Intention to Create Hope — programming is offered in Frayser, Orange Mound, Hickory Hill and South Memphis with plans to grow further. We offer SWITCH Youth services countywide.
In FY25, Memphis Allies served 764 people through SWITCH and SWITCH Youth. Currently, we serve about 500 people daily; we’re aiming to reach 1,000 people. In this report, you will hear from our Memphis Allies program leaders, Susan Deason and Carl Davis; learn what makes this work unique; and meet some of our frontline staff working every day in our community to reduce gun violence.
Already, there is evidence that we are making a real impact. While actively engaged, more than 91% of our SWITCH program participants have not incurred a new gun-related charge. Our programs are driven by rigorous clinical practice, measurable performance and outcomes, and a strong commitment to accountability.
