Each year, the Carnival Memphis Children’s Charity Initiative selects different agencies to receive funds raised by Carnival and its Grand Krewes philanthropic organization at events held throughout the year.
On June 3, 2026, Carnival Memphis presented a check for $700,000 to beneficiaries Pure Academy, TigerLIFE and Memphis Allies.
Jevonte Porter, director of community relations, represented Memphis Allies at the check presentation.

“We are grateful to Carnival Memphis and its members for their continued commitment to children and families in our community,” Porter said. “This generous donation allows us to make a lasting impact on the youth and families we serve and support our goal to stop the next shooting.”
In 2022, Memphis Allies first began sending outreach specialists into some of the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods and apartment complexes. Having served 1,600 people since launch, 90% of Memphis Allies participants have not picked up a new gun charge while in programming.
Since the inception of its Charity Initiative in 1999, Carnival Memphis has donated more than $5.6 million in matching funds to children’s charities in our community.
